Kentucky’s mortgage foreclosure rate was both up and down in January, but remained relatively low compared with the nation and nearby states, RealtyTrac reported Tuesday.
The state had 572 properties in foreclosure in January, an increase of 38.2 percent from December and a decrease of 39.7 percent from January 2007, RealtyTrac said.
The total is equal to 0.03 of 1 percent of all households, giving Kentucky a ranking of 38th among the states.
Nationwide, foreclosures were up 8 percent from December 2007 and 57 percent from January 2007, said RealtyTrac, a California firm that maintains a national database of foreclosed properties. Read more
